Establishment of IVRA with medical staff from 30 countries, “preparation of coronavirus treatment measures”

The International Virus Research Alliance (IVRA), a group of medical staff and scholars from over 30 countries around the world, was established. It is a collaborative organization established with the goal of preparing measures for efficient treatment of COVID-19.

On the 29th, IVRA will hold the 'International Medical Conference on Sharing Hope to Overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic' at the COEX conference room in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea. This is an event where medical experts and scholars from around the world discuss ways to actively respond to the ‘Living-With-Coronavirus’ era.

Dr. Yoo Seung-mo (Chairman of the Health and Healthcare Subcommittee of the Chungcheongnam-do External Cooperation Strategy Committee), who was appointed as the first IVRA Chairman, and Professor Lee Kang-hyun of Yonsei Severance (former Dean of Yonsei Severance Wonju University) will deliver congratulatory remarks.

Advisory members of the cooperation group include △ Park Woo-sung, former director of Dankook University Medical Center (Chairman of the Cancer Center Promotion Committee), △ Dr. Jang Hong-seok, Catholic University Medical School Professor △ Professor Kang Young-nam, Catholic University Medical School △ Professor Jeong Woon-jae, Chung-Ang University △ Dr. Kim Jin-soo, Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner△ Jeong Ho-jae, Eunseong Medical Foundation CEO, and others. Foreign dignitaries attending include Mohamed Jinna, president of the United World Halal Development (UNWHD), Dr. Ho Gwo Fuang, a professor at UMMC Hospital in Malaysia, ambassadors to Korea from Honduras and Sri Lanka, commercial attaché Claudia Fifea from Romania, and commercial attaché Philips Winkler from Austria. About 200 medical staff and officials from related organizations from over 30 countries are expected to participate. In accordance with quarantine guidelines, it was decided to split attendance into online and offline sessions.

IVRA Vice Chairman Dr. Kim Sun-man said, “IVRA’s goal is to secure a leading position in COVID-19 treatment,” and added, “To this end, we will secure basic data through systematic clinical trials.”

At the event, we plan to share the results of Covid-19 treatment using 'hyperthermia immunotherapy' led by Kim Young-wan, director of Seosan Medical Center in South Chungcheong Province, and others. Based on the theory that thermal immunotherapy has a positive effect on overcoming viruses, we attempted to combine it with thermal immunotherapy. Seosan Medical Center, in cooperation with Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, has been treating about 20 coronavirus-positive patients since last May. The results are scheduled to be revealed at this IVRA conference.
