"You can activate NK cells without damaging the body. That is consistent with 'halal spirit'."

Mohammed Jinna, Chairman of the United World Halal Development told the headquarters of a company in Korea. It is describing a medical device maker AdipoLABs' (CEO Han Sung-ho) "REMISSION 1°C" which is a high frequency hyperthermia medical device. Han Sung-ho, president of AdipoLABs was excited to hear the news. That's because he had always thought Islamic market was a new opportunity for REMISSION 1°C.

CEO Han Sung-ho made Indonesia the first entry point for Islamic exports earlier this year, but faced barriers initially. In general, when entering Islamic market, companies often receive 'halal certification' and appeal to the local market even as the beginners. However, medical device has not been approved as halal certified product yet.

Mr. Han thought, 'Why don't I go for Halal certification as a medical device?' But, the process was not easy. This was because halal certification has been unprecedented in medical devices, targeting mainly food and cosmetic items such as medicine, food, and cosmetics. However, a small miracle occurred when the meeting with Mohamed Jinna, the President of the United World Halal Development took place. Mohamed Jinna first expressed interest in REMISSION 1°C.

Mr. Mohammed served as the chairman of Halal India, the chairman of SAARC Halal Deliberation Organization, and the chairman of the Council of Islamic Unions (CCCI). Expectation was huge on a big entrepreneur like him.

Mr. Han said, “On the last 11th, before Halal certification was granted, the chairman visited our headquarters on a purpose of visually checking the product.” "He also tried REMISSION 1°C for an hour." In time, Halal certification was also granted, an auspicious sign for an entry into the Islamic country.

Good things happened one after another. Mohamed Jinna has offered a collaboration on exporting REMISSION 1°C immediately at the meeting. The next day, AdipoLABs and the UNWHD officials were reunited at Lotte Hotel Seoul. A MOU was signed to target Islamic markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, starting with the Indian market.

As part of the MOU, a local seminar in India will be held on August 24th, inviting more than 100 local medical staff to be introduced to AdipoLABs' products.

Mr. Han Sung-ho said, "The first goal was to enter Indonesia, but with the MOU, things got better." "There are a lot of obese patients and metabolic disease patients in the Middle East. So there is a huge market for hyperthermia high frequency medical devices, besides cancer. We will showcase Korea's unique hyperthermia technology to Muslims which is one-fourth of the world population.”
